Spring Wreath for New Front Door

Tomorrow, I will be finished with
painting my new front door!
I just have to wait for things to dry
so that I can put on a final protective coat of polycrylic.

You can see here that I am waiting to take
the plastic coating off the windows.
That will be my final step (tomorrow).

I am so excited!
My new entry is a dutch door,
which will allow the cool ocean breezes
to flow through my home.

I painted the door with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
in Emperor Silk
and it is the PERFECT red!

I found this lovely Spring wreath at Michael's.
It was 60% off
(plus I get an additional 15% teacher discount).
Even though I wasn't done painting the door,
I had to "temporarily" hang the wreath up.
I wanted to see how it looked.
I adore the color combination!

The wreath is made from dried flowers
and the quality is great.

  It is very delicate, though.
Fortunately, my entryway is covered
so the wreath will be protected from the elements.

I like that the wreath is a "touch" of Spring.

I cannot wait for the door to be finished tomorrow!
Please come back and
see the photos of the big reveal!

Au Revoir,
Michelle

  1. I love a bright red front door. It just adds such a nice contrast to the rest of the house. Your wreath is very unique too with the dried flowers on it.

    1. Thank you, Kelly. I am glad you like it. I have ALWAYS wanted a red door. I think because they are a popular choice for the beach cottages on Balboa Island. The wreath was just a lucky score at Michael's! Look back for the photos of the finished door early this upcoming week.
      Best,

  2. That is a gorgeous wreath. I have always wanted to put a wreath up. But then I forget and then it is too late and then it is a new season. I have bought all of the fake flowers and materials needed to make them for pretty much every season. Maybe I will sit down this weekend and make one.
