May Madness Flea Market

Last weekend, Bestie S took me to the beautiful campus
of the Music Academy of the West.
It is a world-renowned music school
by the ocean in Montecito, California.

Hundreds & hundreds of items
were for sale at the annual fundraising flea market:
May Madness.

It was easy to find wonderful goodies for great prices.

My favorite item was this antique secretary from the 1800's.
The condition was incredible.
The detail was remarkable.

The price was great
(it was probably worth 6 to 7 times its price).
Unfortunately, I didn't have any place for it at home.

I was able to purchase quite a few other things, however.
My big "splurge" was a set of antique
Christmas ornaments.

These lovely orbs are really heavy,
probably because they have sterling silver tops.
The set has both sage green and light gold ornaments.
They look great placed together in a large crystal bowl.
I cannot wait to display them this holiday season.
BTW, my "splurge" was only $45.

Bestie S and I spent several hours
searching through the various tents and rooms.
I came home with chairs, linens, dishware, & more.
I'll show you the rest of goodies tomorrow.

Au Revoir,
Michelle

  1. Oh I can't wait to see what you bought! I love going to places like that. I don't usually get to go to very many until the Fall though.

    1. Kelly, it was pretty exciting to go to a flea market in Montecito - home to many of the rich & famous. I have to admit, there were some VERY nice items that had been donated. Fortunately, the Music Academy of the West is a great institution and wonderful cause!
      Best,
      Michelle
