Sea and Sky

If you live in Santa Barbara, California,
you are surrounded by blue
on a daily basis.
This is especially true on a beautiful day like today.
The sky is clear blue.
There isn't even a hint of a cloud.
The water is a gorgeous turquoise,
with pretty whitecaps crashing at the sandy shore.

We love blue in Santa Barbara.

My youngest daughter is in the process
of redecorating her room.
It is teal and a coral-pink.

Behind her dresser, she has an old, chippy window frame
that we filled with mirrors.

My daughter loves her "Island Waters" candle
from Bath & Body Works.
It is placed in a teal blue votive holder from Pier 1.

Just behind the candle, you can see
a small part of her teal blue picture frame
with white polka dots.
She has a picture of herself with her brother & sister.

Also on her dresser is a shiny decorative piece.
It is similar to the inside of an abalone shell with
its mixture of blue, purple, green, and gold.
I found this at Home Goods.

I also found this clear, crackly lamp at Home Goods.
She needed an extra lamp
for additional brightness in her bedroom.

This faux sea urchin was picked up from
the clearance section at Pottery Barn.
My older daughter has most of the sea urchins
from the pack, but this blue one was perfect for
my younger daughter's room.

It works well in a trio that includes a real sand dollar
and a piece of teal blue sea glass.

My daughter loves the way
her bedroom is picking up the colors & vibe
of Santa Barbara.
