This weekend is the Santa Barbara
annual French Festival!
Even though I am recovering from my stay
in the hospital, I just HAD to go!!!
It was such a great event.
There is so much to see and do.
There are loads of booths
featuring activities, food, and wares for sale.
I tried on a pair of espadrilles
(and now I regret not getting a pair).
My family & I also treated ourselves to a treat of beignets.
YUM!
Sorry. I gobbled down a few before I remembered
to take a photograph.
There are also three stages with various
French-themed performances
(such as can-can dancers, accordion players, & more).
Actors portray figures from the time of the
French Revolution.
At the Queen's Tent, there were jesters & jousters.
The event is held each year on a weekend
around Bastille Day in Oak Park in Santa Barbara.
The entire park is decorated for the festivities!
I missed seeing the annual
"Poodles & Pals" Parade - maybe next year
my pug, Toodles, can join in the fun.
I am a frenchie-fanatic,
so I am so glad I was able to attend this fun event!

The can-can lady... Do you remember in the downstairs bathroom wallpaper when we were little?
ReplyDeleteTotally! They were doing a can-can on stage, too but my photos were terrible. It makes me remember my own can-can from the end of the year show in high school. Good times!
DeleteHow fun is this. Looks like a great time and I love the costumes too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marty. It was fun!
