French Cafe Set - BEFORE: Trash to Treasure

Here's a question.
How do you sit on a chair without a seat???

This is a "trash to treasure" story.

I found these chairs at a flea market event.
It was $10 for the pair
(probably because they did not have seats).

Then, there was this rusty cafe table
which I have had for years.
It needed some cute cafe chairs.

It also needed a make-over.

Enter in some bright red spray paint (with primer).

My handy dad also cut some plywood seats.

Tomorrow, I will show you the complete overhaul
I gave this little French-style cafe set.

P.S.
I have promised you a Laundry Area Reveal.
Unfortunately, a thing called "Life" got in the way.
First, I was very sick.
Then, I was in the hospital.
Finally, the water softener pipe burst,
and now my "pretty" area needs a lot of TLC
due to the water damage.
Coming soon...

  2. Hi there,
I just wandered into your blog yesterday (thank you for leaving the door unlocked)! I spent last evening reading backward to the beginning....you have really snared my attention and lifted my spirits! I hope that you are feeling better and things are going well for you. I have added you to my prayer list.
I can't wait to see your cute chairs and table....red is my FAVORITE color! I know I'm not in style, but just make my goodies red/gold/mossy green and I will be a happy camper!
    Many blessings,
    J

  3. Love the chairs you found, they look great paired with the table. I can't wait to see how you transformed them!!!! I'm sorry you have been so sick but am glad to hear your are getting better. Sounds like you have my kind of luck.....we gutted our hall bathroom a few years back and when we got it all finished the new A/C unit in the attic leaked and the ceiling fell in!!! The worst part is the company that put the unit in is so incompetent that we didn't dare ask them to fix, so we did it ourselves.
    Have a great week!!!!

    1. Des - I appreciate your comment & I hope to have the "after" photos up on the blog later today. I love the look of the red, blue, & yellows of Provence... so that's a little hint about the direction this project has taken.
      Best,
      Michelle
P.S. I cannot even imagine the horro of having a ceiling fall through the roof. UGH!!!
