A Day on the Town

Today, my younger daughter had a minimum day at school.
She wanted to go shopping with her friend in
downtown Santa Barbara.

Many of the most popular shops
in downtown are along State Street.

The architecture in Santa Barbara is so special and beautiful.
Most of it follows the Spanish Mission tradition.

The landscaping is also remarkable.
Flowers and trees are abundant.

While the girls shopped for clothes and makeup,
I did a little shopping for myself.
(I think I have fallen in LOVE with Dior's new nail polish!)

I bought "incognito"
- and it dries in a few seconds.
AMAZING!
(This is NOT a sponsored post.)
There are a ton of colors to choose from.

Seriously, I adore Sephora.
It is dangerous (to my wallet) when I go in there.
I have always been a "girlie-girl",
so I love makeup!

I also did some shopping for my home while I was downtown.
There were a few things I just couldn't resist.
First, at Bath & Body Works, I went crazy for their candles.
I bought the "Sweater Weather" 3-wick candle
and a pumpkin cut-out candle holder.

Since the store was having a sale,
my daughter got a new candle, too.
She's a girl after my own heart!

I also bought a few things at Cost Plus World Market.
These items will be showing up on the blog
in the next few days (as I finish up a few projects).

With our wonderful ocean breezes,
Santa Barbara rarely has really hot weather.
Yesterday & today have been exceptions.
It has been about 100 degrees each day!

It is fun to enjoy some extra sunshine and pool days.
Still, I think I am ready to start
eating caramel apples and wearing my sweaters & boots.
 Even though it was hot,
the girls and I had a fun day!
